This interdisciplinary
classroom unit was designed for middle and high school computer science students and is aligned with both NGSS and CSTA standards.
In the Cybergardens unit students will:
- Grow plants in their own miniature greenhouses
- Learn about how to program electronics to take care of plants and plant environments
- Construct experimental and technology-enhanced greenhouses that automate plant care and help students investigate questions they have about growing plants
The full curriculum for the cybergardens unit is not yet available. You can explore components of this unit and other activities related to Cybergardens in the “make” and “code” sections below.
This unit is supported by a National Science Foundation award titled, “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Teaching Computational Environmental Science”. NSF award number: 1814001. We would like to specially thank and acknowledge our teachers in Colorado for their role in this project.
